Brilliant Advertisement

Brilliant Advertisement

This 100,000 square foot ad was painted on a farmer’s field adjacent to Gatwick airport. So now when passengers look out their window when coming in for a landing… there she is.

Not only has this website gotten the eyeballs of thousands of fliers, the free publicity is going to be amazing for them. This ad gets The Nerd’s thumbs up for sheer brilliance.

You must respect advertisers a LOT more than I do. Personally, I’m sick of seeing advertisements EVERYWHERE: TV, radio, highways, sporting events, mail, fliers, email, Internet, etc. We literally can’t escape them.

I hear that, but i have a great deal of respect for the business of advertising. That guy took a big risk… it cost a lot of money to place that ad, he has to have a lot of people sign up to his website before he makes any profit. Advertising is a game of highly calculated risk taking, that’s why I love it.

I should adopt your outlook instead of letting it bother me. :) p.s. Your post said that it’s “free publicity” which contradicts what you just said. Just thought I’d mention it.

He paid the farmer to paint the ad on his field. As a bonus he’s getting tons of free publicity on the web.
