Why on earth would George W. Bush want to send in thousands more troops to bolster security in Iraq temporarily? Is it to allow more time to train the Iraqi Army, as will most likely be the stated objective? I don’t think so, the reason for a surge of troops is to delay the bloodbath until the next president takes over.

Senator Biden, the new Foreign Relations Chairman had this to say: “I have reached the tentative conclusion that a significant portion of this administration, maybe even including the vice president, believes Iraq is lost, they have no answer to deal with how badly they have screwed it up. I am not being facetious now. Therefore, the best thing to do is keep it from totally collapsing on your watch and hand it off to the next guy — literally, not figuratively.”
