This is the USS San Antonio, NOT the USS New York. Its bow displays the number 17.
The USS New York was assigned to display the number 21.

A couple of years ago my husband read an article about the ship being built from steel melted down from the twin towers. He was so moved he wrote a poem, which he showed to friends of his who wrote a song and took it to nashville and the song that Charlie Daniels sung at the christening was the end result of that process. He is so proud to have been a part of starting that whole tribute.
