12 Jul 06 Today Is ManhattanHenge

The buildings usually block the sunset, but not today, 7/12. Above 14th St. the streets are 30 degrees off due north so twice a year the sunset lines up directly with the streets, like a modern day Stonehenge.

Here’s a cool picture of what to expect, if the weather clears up.
