I just read it. Question: has anyone considered asking England to take us back? It could go something like this:
Seriously, your Majesty, sorry about the whole bloody (no pun intended) Revolution thing. High treason and all, we know. Sorry. Apologize where we killed 1240 Englishmen because of being cheap bastards who couldn’t take taxes, and demanding immediate representation in Parliament when not half of native Englishmen had yet received the same. Yeah, I suppose being axillary colonies made that a bit presumptuous of us. Yes, we know we would have eventually had representatives in Parliament. We just thought it was better to start a war than suffer the inconvenience of suppressing our ego. Stupid, your Majesty? Yes, ma’am, we know.
That’s a good idea. While we’re at it we can go join France and learn how to bend over and take it like a coward. Good ideas there.
